Well, it's official! Greyson has learned to potty like a "Big Boy!" Since he recently turned 3, we were a teeny-tiny bit concerned with Greyson not having any desire to use the potty. The first time we introduced the idea to him, was shortly after his 2nd birthday. We didn't enforce it, we just wanted him to be familiar with it. This past year during my winter break, I thought I might spend a little extra time in pursuing the potty training...no such luck. Once again, we didn't over enforce it or get too up tight about it...other moms would tell me that he'd do it when he was ready. To me, that meant (teacher terms) "zone of proximal development!" Made perfect sense to me!! But, to spark his interest, we tried some different reward methods...first we tried stickers (didn't work), then we tried suckers (no good + too much sugar), then we went out and bought 7 different Disney character Cars that he didn't have, and put them up on top of the fridge for him to see. We explained to him, that if he used the potty like a big boy, he could have one of the cars....it worked! He woke up the next day and said, "Mommy I need to go potty!" The rest is history...he earned 4 cars that day, and the rest the following day.

He also earned this cool race track, for going #2 in the potty!! One happy Big Boy!!
Dear Greyson,
You're a very smart fella who has a lot of drive and determination!! Keep up the good job!
We love you,
Mommy & Daddy
