Just A Little Off The Top, Please!

Greyson finally got his long anticipated 1st haircut this past week! I wasn't quite sure how long to wait, but with his 1st birthday coming up, he has to look his best! I took him to” Cookie Cutters,” they specialize in cutting hair just for kids! The entire shop is kid themed/ friendly with an indoor playground, televisions, and adorable seats to sit in.  Such an enjoyable way for kids to get their haircut! I was able to purchase a “1st haircut” package that included a certificate with his picture on it & a lock of hair. Greyson did a great job! He squirmed a little, but no tears! Without doubt something that will be cherished in the years to come!

Just A Swingin'

This past weekend we were able to get Greyson's swing hung from our charming deck that Brandon built whenever we first built/bought our house. We couldn't wait to let Grey swing away! It was a huge hit...he loved it!
We also brought out his "hillbilly" bathtub that he got for Christmas from his Grandpa Larry.  He enjoyed splashing around in it as well...he's almost too big for it!
We then enjoyed crawling around in the grass.  At first, he wasn't sure what to think...
but once he felt comfortable...he was off chasing Daisy!
He's constantly on the move!
We'll be celebrating his 1st Birthday very soon!  We love you little baby!

Think Pink!

Today was a memorable day...our family participated in the “Race for the Cure,” an event that helps to support the fight against breast cancer. This particular event is near & dear to our hearts because breast cancer has truly left an unfortunate mark within our families. Last April, we lost Brandon’s step-mother to breast cancer & just 2 days before this year's race, my mother(whom is already a 2 time breast cancer survivor) got word that her PET scan had found more cancer in her chest & in her hip area. While the cancer isn’t a “deadly” cancer, it’s fortunately controllable but will possibly continue to return. My mother will start her chemotherapy on Monday. Her spirits are strong & her faith in the Lord is even stronger. If anyone can handle going through this agonizing process again, it’s her…but not without the support of family, friends, prayer, & the strength that she relies on from the Lord. This will be her 3rd bout with cancer & we’re prayerful that “this too shall pass.”

As we approached the finish line, "Survivors" were honored by crossing in the "Survivor lane."  Mom wanted to carry Greyson with her across the line.

We love you mom/Grandma!

A Womb With A View!

Today we got a 3D “sneak peek” of what our little baby girl is going to resemble! We determined...she's got her mommy's nose & long toes! She's got her daddy's chin & her big brother's charming grin! This ultrasound was incredibly special & we were so delighted with the experience we had in having it done! Baby is still breeched & we were lucky that we didn’t wait a few more weeks because we might not have been able to see her adorable face.

My precious little baby
I have loved you from the start.
You are a tiny miracle
laying closely to my heart.
Each day I feel your presence,
each day you quickly grow.
Each day your heart beats softly,
as only I could know.
So I'll keep this in a special place,
and remember each year through,
of this very special time of life,
the months I carried you.

Joy In Every Moment

Today Greyson is 11 months old! My goodness how time has suddenly passed us by! At the beginning of April, Greyson decided that he wanted to do the military crawl. We then found ourselves anticipating if he would go directly from that, to walking. Brandon wrote on our family calendar that Greyson would be crawling on his hands and knees by the last part of the month. Then it happened!  Just 2 days before the end of April, Greyson decided that he would give crawling on his hands and knees a try! We were in shock and had to chuckle whenever we saw him crawling. We find so much joy in every moment that we're with him! Here are a few of those moments…

Getting a "wipe down" after a messy breakfast...
Playing with his trucks...
Discovered how to open/close the front door...
Discovered Daisy's food...
Sharing his "puffs" with Daisy...
Crawling everywhere!
We've also been making room for our baby girl! I think I've decided on room decor (girly for sure), and we are still in the process of finalizing a perfect name!
