Today was a memorable day...our family participated in the “Race for the Cure,” an event that helps to support the fight against breast cancer. This particular event is near & dear to our hearts because breast cancer has truly left an unfortunate mark within our families. Last April, we lost Brandon’s step-mother to breast cancer & just 2 days before this year's race, my mother(whom is already a 2 time breast cancer survivor) got word that her PET scan had found more cancer in her chest & in her hip area. While the cancer isn’t a “deadly” cancer, it’s fortunately controllable but will possibly continue to return. My mother will start her chemotherapy on Monday. Her spirits are strong & her faith in the Lord is even stronger. If anyone can handle going through this agonizing process again, it’s her…but not without the support of family, friends, prayer, & the strength that she relies on from the Lord. This will be her 3rd bout with cancer & we’re prayerful that “this too shall pass.”

As we approached the finish line, "Survivors" were honored by crossing in the "Survivor lane." Mom wanted to carry Greyson with her across the line.
We love you mom/Grandma!
